when there is no number beside it how do you get the numbers out of ()? Do you take the 9 or something. I guess I can give it a shot right now.
9/10=9-9
so then 9-9=0 and I'm kinda not sure after that not that I am even sure how to do any of this problem This question is from textbook

Multiply both sides by 10 to get rid of the denominator, as follows:
10[(1/10)(y-9)=10*9
The 10 times the 1/10 is "1", so you get:
y-9=90
Add 9 to both sides to get:
y=99

First thing, to get rid of the fraction ... multiply both sides by its reciprocal

The fractions cancel on the left

Multiply on the right

Add 9 to both sides

Combine like terms
