Question 54729: Okay, tried working this one....substitution....getting confused:
4x=3-y 8x+2y=6 solve x and y

Answer by tutorcecilia(2152)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x=3-y [Solve for y]
4x-3=-y
-4x+3 =y [Substitute for y in the other equation]
.
8x+2y=6
8x+2(-4x+3)=6
8x-8x+6=6 [Simplify]
0+6=6
0=0 [Both equations are for the same line. Graph each equation to check]
