9(b-4)-7b=5(3b-2)
9b-36-7b=15b-2
this is where I kinda get confused, do you minus 9b from 9b then minus 9b from 7b or do you add 7b to 7b then add 7b to 9b. Can you do -36-2? Can you tell me what some of these steps are and why it is what it is please? For this problem I only know how to combine like terms and do the little division thing at the end. I can do easier problems like 12y+21=9y , 12y-12y+21=9y-12y, 21=-3y. -3y divided by -3 cancels out then you do it to the other side 21 divided by -3 = -7 so y=-7 This question is from textbook

9B-7B-15B=36-10
-13B=26
B=26/-13
B=-2
PROOF
9(-2-4)-7(-2)=5(3[-2]-2)
9(-6)+14=5(-6-2)
-54+14=5(-8)
-40=-40
