Question 546531: how do you solve 2x=3y+4
4x=3-5y

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2 x -3 y = 4 .............1
4 x + 5 y = 3 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 5
Multiply (2) by 3
10 x -15 y = 20
12 x + 15 y = 9
Add the two equations
22 x = 29.000
/ 22
x = 29/22
plug value of x in (1)
2 x + -3 y = 4
2.64 + -3 y = 4
-3 y = 4 -2.64
-3 y = 1.36
y = - 5/11
