Which of the following is not an expression A)x + 2y, B)a + b + c, C)4(y+1) or D)ab = 6. I want to say that it is C) because it has only one variable. Is this correct?

"D" is not an expression; it is an equation.

An equation and an expression is totally different, and good for you, they are easy to tell the difference! An equation has an equal sign. An expression doesn't.
