-2x+2y=12

Answer by hulamc723(15)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x+y=4
-2x+2y=12
In the first equation solve for y (subtract 2x from both sides so you get
y=4-2x
Substitute the 4-2x in for y in the second equation
-2x+2(4-2x)=12 now solve for x
-2x+8-4x=12
-6x+8=12
-6x=4
x=-4/6
x=-2/3
