You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Presumably you are being asked to solve for x.
6x%2Bx%5E2+=+27 (You don't need the 1 in front of the x%5E2). Subtract 27 from both sides of the equation.
x%5E2%2B6x-27+=+0 Solve this quadratic equation by factoring.
x%5E2%2B6x-27+=+%28x-9%29%28x%2B3%29
%28x-9%29%28x%2B3%29+=+0 Apply the zero product principle.
x-9+=+0 and/or x%2B3+=+0
If x-9+=+0 then x+=+9
If x%2B3+=+0 then x+=+-3
The roots are:
x = 9
x = -3
