Question 481080: 5x+2y=-13
7x-3y=17

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5 x + 2 y = -13 .............1
7 x -3 y = 17 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 3
Multiply (2) by 2
15 x + 6 y = -39
14 x -6 y = 34
Add the two equations
29 x = -5
/ 29
x = -0.17
plug value of x in (1)
5 x + 2 y = -13
-0.86 + 2 y = -13
2 y = -13 + 0.86
2 y = -12.14
y = -6.07
