Hi,
What is the value of the y variable in the solution to the following system of equations?
5x + 3y = 7
3x - 5y = -23
eliminating the x variable by multiplying the 2nd EQ thru by -5/3
5x + 3y = 7
-5x + 25/3y = -23*-5/3 + 21/3
(34/3)y = 23*5/3 + 21/3
34y = 115 + 21
y = 136/34
y = 4
