Question 450217: I REALLY need help with parallel & Perpendicular lines!
Here's what it says: Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the graph of the equation.
y=3x-5;(21,22)
Slope i will use _________
Point slope form:
Slope-Intercept form:
Also,
y=x-15;(o,9)
and
2x+1=y;(3,1)
For the last one it says i have to find slope, but isn't the slope already 2 ?
Please, Please, Please HELP!!!!

Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the graph of the equation.
;
y = 3x - 5; (21,22)
Slope i will use __3. parallel lines have equal slopes
Point slope/form of the parallel line:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 22 = 3(x - 21)
y - 22 = 3x - 63
y = 3x - 63 + 22
y = 3x - 41 this is the Slope-Intercept form:
:
Also,
y= x - 15;(o,9)
slope is 1
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 9 = 1(x - 0
y = x + 9, slope intercept form
:
and
2x+1=y;(3,1)
y = mx + b, usually written
y = 2x + 1
slope: 2, yes it is already 2
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 1 = 2(x - 3)
y - 1 = 2x - 6
y = 2x - 6 + 1
y = 2x - 5, slope/intercept form
