Question 4146: simplify- 3x(4+2y)-2x(3+8y)
This is my answer-
12x +6xy-6x+16xy Why is this wrong???

Answer by longjonsilver(2297)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the second bracket...it says multiply (-2x) to both +3 and +8y.

You got the first correct...-2x*3 is -6x

However, -2x*8y is -16xy and not +16xy
