using substitution to solve

x=2y+2

2x+3y=11

substituting (2y+3) for x

2(2y+2) + 3y = 11

solving for y

4y + 4 + 3y = 11

     7y = 7

      y = 1 and 

      x = 4       | x = 2y + 2= 2*1+2 = 4
