Let x and (16oz-x) represent the 65% and 25% types respecrtively
Question States***
combining to form the 50% mixture
.65x + .25(16oz-x) = .50*16oz
.40x = .25/16oz
x = .25*16oz/.40
x = 10oz, the amount of the 65% type. 6oz of the 25% type (16-6)
CHECKING our Answer***
.65*10oz + .25*6oz = 6.5oz + 1.5oz = .50*16oz = 8oz
