Question 381225: Why is (5x+6)(x-4)/(2x-5)(x-4) not in factored form? What is the correct final factored form? What is this factoring method called? Also post and example using the same factored method.

It's not in simplified form because you can cancel out x-4 from top and bottom to obtain (5x+6)/(2x-5). I'm actually not aware if there is an actual name for this method, I just say that we canceled out x-4.
