(7y^2-9y-3) from the sum of
(5y^2+1) and (8y+3)
5y^2+1+8y+3
=5y^2+8y+4
..
5y^2+8y+4 - (7y^2-9y-3) (open the parenthesis- the signs change since there is a negative sign before the parenthesis)
5y^2+8y+4-7y^2+9y+3
-2y^2+17y+7
