Answer by lefty4ever26(59) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x+4=3x-2 Subtract 2x from both sides.
4=x-2 Add 2 to both sides.
6=x So, x=6.
4-2x=3x-2 Add 2x to both sides.
4=5x-2 Add 2 to both sides.
6=5x Divide both sides by 5.
6/5 = x So, x=6/5.
Basically, you are trying to get x by itself. The rule is anything you do to one side you have to do to the other, whether it be adding or subtracting a number or multiplying or dividing a number.
Good Luck!
