Question 355893: hi i am trying to do an equation and the type of equation is simlifying each side before solving equantions.
the question is 5-(t+3)=-1+2(t-3)
i tried solving it but i get stuck right at the begining.
i know that i have to use the distibuative property but what the heck do i do when isays 5-(t+3)how do i use the property with that?

5-(t+3)=-1+2(t-3) -- To Distribute z(x+y)= zx + zy
5-t-3=-1+2t-6 -- Simplify #
2-t=2t-7 -- Move -t to other side +t on both sides
2=3t-7 -- Move -7 to other side +7 to both sides
9=3t -- Divide both sides by 3
3=t -- Switch :) Just a Good Habit
Solution t=3

5 -t-3 = -1 +2t-6
2-t = 2t-7
9-t = 2t
9 = 3t
t = 3
