Question 348807: How do I expand by Distributave Property? Here is the question.

mx(ab-b)

Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
mx(ab-b) =

Just multiply every term inside the parentheses by the term outside the

parentheses. Doing this will clear the parentheses.

mx times ab = abmx

mx times -b = -bmx

Final answer: abmx - bmx

After looking at your question a bit more carefully, I noticed that the term

outside the parentheses is missing the letter b.

In other words, when factoring abmx - bmx, the correct factored answer is

bmx(a - 1).
