Question 272316: How do you solve for the variable of problems containing exponents: 4y+12=y^2
Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0 = y^2 - 4y - 12
factoring ___ 0 = (y - 6) (y + 2)
for the product of factors to be zero, any of the factors must equal zero
0 = y - 6 ___ 6 = y
0 = y + 2 ___ -2 = y
