Question 269985: please help me solve this equation: x+3y=56
Answer by Tobiasz(54)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + 3y =56
This is a equation where you need the x and y intercept.
x + 3y = 56 make x zero for y intercept
0 +3y = 56
3y = 56
Divided 3 from both sides and you get:
(y = 18.66)
Plug this into the equation
x + 3(18.66) =56
x + 55.98 = 56
subtract 55.98 from both sides
x = 0.02
the Cood. (18.66,0.02)

Or x +3y = 56
minus x from 56 the you get
((3y = 56 - x))
