First we will solve by elimination;
When you ar solving a problem by elimination it means you are going to eliminate one of the variables, and to do that you need to make one variable exact opposite of the same variable in the other equation so they cancel each other out;
To begin we will eliminate the x, so we will need to make one of them negative.
to do that we will need to multiiply the eq.1 by -1;
(-1)x + y = 18
-x-y=-18
Now we will add the two equations together;
-x- y=-18
x +2y= 25
------------
y=7
Now that we know y we can plug that into the equation to find x;
x+ (7)=18
x=18-7
x=11
Hope you understand
