Answer by smallfry(7)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first find out what x or y is.... they all ready tell you x, so plug that in the second prom.
y=2y-2
know get the y's together
y=2y-2
-2y -2y
y-2y=-2
-1y=-2
now to get y +, divid by -1
-y=-2
/-1 /-1
y=2
now go back to the first prom. and plug in y
x=2(2)
x=4

Answer by elima(1433)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=2y
y=x-2
Sinc you already know what x=, substitute that in the 2nd equation to solve for y;
y=2y-2
y-2y=-2
-y=-2
y=2
Now since we have the answer for y; lets replace that in the second eq. and solve for x;
x=2(2)
x=4
So the answer is;
x=4
y=2
=)
