Question 233217: An airplane flies 720 miles with the wind. In the same amount of time, it can fly 630 miles against the wind. The speed of the plane is still air is 225 mph. Find the speed of the wind
I have 720/x+225=630/x-225
Is this the correct way to set up the equation? How do I solve from here?

An airplane flies 720 miles with the wind. In the same amount of time, it can fly 630 miles against the wind. The speed of the plane is still air is 225 mph. Find the speed of the wind
I have 720/x+225=630/x-225
Is this the correct way to set up the equation? How do I solve from here?
--------------
I have 720/x+225=630/x-225 *** The plane's airspeed is greater than the wind speed, so it's
720/(225+x) = 630/(225-x) not x-225
Cross multiply
720*(225-x) = 630*(225+x)
8*(225-x) = 7*(225+x)
1800-8x = 1575+7x
15x = 225
x = 15 mph
