Question 233134: I'm having a very hard time with solving equations with unknowns on both sides. Can you please explain in the simplest form possible. Example: 5a-9=1+3a
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5a-9=1+3a
Subtract 3a from both sides to get:
2a-9 = 1
Add 9 to both sides to get:
2a = 10
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
a = 5
