Question 23257: how do you write an equation, in standard form, having the given slope and y-intercept?
y=y coordinate
x=x coordinate
m=slope
b=constant
example of the equation--- 2x-y=-3 when m=2 and b=3
here are some more slopes and constants that need to be made into an equation
please show me all of your work so i can noe how to do teh rest of the worksheet
1)m=2/3 and b=-2 2)m=-1 and b=0 3)m=-1/2 b=-4 4)m=4 b=1/3

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Standard form is ax + by = c
If 2x-y= -3 then 2x + (-1)y = -3 is the equation
in standard form.
1) y=(2/3)x -2
3y=2x-6
2x + (-3)y= 6
2) y= (-1)x+0
(-1)x + (-1)y =0
3) y = (-1/2)x - 4
2y = -x-8
x+2y = -8
