Let's represent the width = x
length = 3x
Perimeter = 44cm
We know the perimeter is measuring the 4 sides so the equation will look like this:
x + x +3x + 3x = 44 cm
Combine terms:
8x = 44 cm
Divide each side by 8.
x = 5.5 cm
Answer is: 5.5 cm for the width
16.5 cm for the length
Check the answer and should come out to 44 cm
