What I don't understand is how to make it into an equation (so that I can solve it). I don't need the solution, just how to put it into an equation. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

How many seconds in a year? look it up or figure it out
How many intervals of 3-seconds in a year? divide by 3
---------------------
How many sets of 165 drips in the above. divide by 165
-----------------------
How many eight-ounce cups make a gallon. look it up
