No you don't need to do any of that to solve the equation.
It's already in factored form.
You solve the equation when any of the expressions equals zero.
Solve for all three cases.
-4x=0
x=0
.
.
.
(x-2)=0
x=2
.
.
.
(3x-1)=0
3x=1
x=(1/3)
.
.
.
So you have 3 solutions, x=(1/3), 0, and 2.
