To multiply this expand the expression. As the problem is asking you to square:
(x-3)*(x-3)
Now use the FOIL method to find the product.
FOIL is an acronym for First, Outer, Inner, Last
Multiply the first term of each expression
x * x = x^2
Next, multiply the two outer terms:
x * -3 = -3x
Then multiply the inner terms:
x * -3 = -3x
Finally, the last terms
-3 * -3 = 9
Add all of terms together:

Combine like terms:

This is your answer

The answer you came up with is incorrect. You cannot distribute an exponent in that manor. In this case you would use FOIL (first, inside, outside, last) to multiply these binomials.
(x-3) (x-3)
First:
Inside:
Outside:
Last:
Put those products into an equation:

Then combine like terms:

And you're done.
