Question 208190: Two hundred people were on a chater flight to las vegas. Some paid $200for their tickets and some paid $250. If the total revenue for the flight was$44,000 then how many tickets of each type were sold.
Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
250x+200(200-x)=44,000
250x+40,000-200x=44,000
50x=44,000-40,000
50x=4,000
x=4,000/50
x=80 $250 tickets were sold
200-80=120 $200 tickets were sold
Proof:
250*80+200*120=44,000
20,000+24,000=44,000
44,000=44,000
