Question 208143: Solve algebraically:
7x+3y=29
and
5x+6y=-10

We are given two equations:
(1)7x+3y=29
(2)5x+6y=-10
---
if we multiply (1) by 2,
14x+6y=58
then, if we subtract (2) from this,
9x=68
x=68/9
---
substituting this to (1),
7(68/5)+3y=29
476/5+3y=29
3y=29-476/5=-66.2
y=-33.67
