Question 20626: use substitution to solve the equation
n=3m-11
2m+3n=0
Answer by pwac(253) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
n=3m-11........(1)
2m+3n=0........(2)
substitute the value of n in equation(1)into(2)
2m+3(3m-11)=0 multiply bracket by 3
2m+9m-33=0
11m-33=0 add 33 to both sides
11m=33 divide both sides by 11
m=3 substitute this into (1)to find n
n=3(3)-11
n=9-11
n=-2
put m=3 and n=-2 into (2) to check
2(3)+3(-2)=0
6-6=0 correct
