Find the vertex and the axis of symmetry of the following parabola.
y = 4x^2 + 24x – 1
---------------------------------
The vertex occurs where x = -b/2a = -24/(2*4) = -3
f(3) = 4*9 + 24*3 -1 = 36 + 71 = 108
------------------
Vertex at (-3,108)
---
Axis of symmetry: x = -3
