.10x+1,200-.08x=1,375
.02x=1.375-1,200
.02x=175
x=175/.02
x=8,750 amount invested @ 10%.
15,000-8,750=6,250 amount invested @ 8%.
Proof:
.10*8,750+.08*6,250=1,375
875+500=1,375
1,375=1,375
