Question 178173: 202) 2+3/(y-5)= 2y/(y-5)
Perform the operations or solve if it is an equation (= sign)

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2+3/(y-5)= 2y/(y-5)
-----------
Multiply thru by y-5 to get:
2(y-5) + 3 = 2y
2y - 5 + 3 = 2y
-2 = 0
Contradiction:
The equation has no solutions.
