-3*(-4x+2)..distributive property in this case is to use that multiplication distributes over addition /subtraction. -3 out side the bracket is to multilply the contents inside the bracket which have a +ve and -ve sign.so we get
-3*(-4x)+(-3)(2)=12x-6
