Answer by Mathtut(3670)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
lets call x the number of hours Jeff skates and y the # of hours Jermaine skates
and z is the number of hours they can skate together.
A. 2y=7--->y=3.5 so Jermaine skates for 3.5 hours
B. 2x=12-3.50---->2x=8.5--->x=4.25 so Jeff skates for 4.25 hours
C in this case total number of hours for both we will call z and is at $4/hr
: so 4z=12+7-3.50---->4z=15.50--->z=3.875 so they together could skate for
: 3.875 hours
D not sure how to write the inequality could be x>y if money spent by Jeff is over $7
