Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
rewrite
3x+4y=15+6y
so that y is a function of x
please help me understand for my test!
---------------
3x+4y=15+6y
That means getting y on one side of the equal sign by itself.
Subtract 4y from both sides
3x = 15+2y
Subtract 15 from both sides
3x-15 = 2y, or
2y = 3x-15
Divide by 2
y = 3x/2 - 15/2, or y = (3x-15)/2, or y = (3/2)*(x-5). They're all the same.
That's it.
Just move things around until you get what you want. Similar to real-life.
