subtracting 35 __ 3y^2+16y-35=0
factoring __ factors of -35 "combined" with 3 to get 16 __ like (3*7)-5
(3y-5)(y+7)=0
3y-5=0 __ 3y=5 __ y=5/3
y+7=0 __ y=-7
