create equal denominators

distribute the 5 and the 7 and multiply (4*7) and (5*7)

add (5x+5) to -(7x-21) (make sure you distruibute the negative)

then because they both have 35 as the denominator you can muliply both sides by 35 to cancel them out


then combine like terms

then subtract 26 from both sides

then divide by -2
