Question 14226: Which Statement is true if n is a whole number?
a. if 20/n=5, then n/5=4
b.if 20-n=5, then n/5=4
c.if 5 x n=20, then n+5=25
d.if 20/n=5, then 20/5+n

Answer by Alwayscheerful(414)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
just go one by one and solve each.
A. then n must equal 4. Next equation,

does not equal 4 so
A is FALSE
B. then n must equal 15. Next equatoin,

does not equal 4 so
B is FALSE
C. then n must equal 4. Next equation,

does not equal 25 so
C is FALSE
D. then n must equal 4. Next equation, doesn't really make any sense. That is not an equation.
since all A, B, and C were false, this one must be true, but I can't prove it because I can't work with that equation.
From my previous explanation, I'm sure you can figure it out. :D
