Let me begin by saying that I can't use brackets in algebra.com equation notation, since it has a different meaning --it's used for subscripts. Therefore, where you called for brackets, I'll have to use parentheses.

Subtract from each side and add +6y to each side:

Divide both sides by -6, and you get
y = -1 Which would be answer D.

If you substitute the value of y=-1 back into the original equation, I think you get 15 = 15, which checks.
