Question 13924: can you show me how to work problem 8b-4=5b+8
Answer by tjnw79(57)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8b-4=5b+8
What you do to one side = you must do to the other.
First take the -4 and cancel itself by adding, then add 4 to 8
8b=5b+12
The subtract 5b on both sides to get
3b=12
Because 3 is multiplied by b you want to divide 3 on both sides
b=12/3
answer is
b=4
