2x-y=7 or -y=-2x+7 or y=2x-7 now substitute (2x-7) for y in the other equation.
5x-2(2x-7)=18
5x-4x+14=18
x=18-14
x=4 answer.
y=2*4-7
y=8-7
y=1 answer.
proof:
5*4-2*1=18
20-2=18
18=18
