Let his brother's weight be "x" lbs. ; George = (x/2) + 60
EQUATION:
4[(x/2) + 60] = 10x
2x + 240 = 10x
8x = 240
x = 30 lbs : brother's weight

(x/2) + 60 = 75 lbs. :George's weight

using the equation d1(w1) = d2(w2)
4(1/2(x)+60) = 6x
2x + 240 = 6x subtract 2x from both sides
240 = 4x divide both sides by 4
x is equal to 60 lbs
Now plug 60 into Georg0e's weight equation:
(1/2(60) + 60
30 + 60 = 90 lbs
Therefore Galen is 60 lbs and George is 90 lbs.
