1/3 students play a musical instrument at school. If 150 students play an instrument, how many students are in school?

Er...not quite.
Let x = the number of students in school. 1/3 of them ((1/3)x) play a musical instrument (150), so you can write: (1/3)x = 150 and solve for x.
Multiply both sides by the multiplicative inverse of 1/3 (that's 3/1 or just 3)

There are 450 students in school.
