Question 123749: Please help me solve this equation:
6(r-8)+5>7(r+2)-22

Answer by brina_math(3)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6(r-8)+5>7(r+2)-22
Here's the steps in doing it:
multiply the numbers 6r-48+5> 7r+14-22
put the r's on one side and the numbers on the other:
6r-7r> 14-22+48-5, add 14 and 48, -22 and -5
-r> 62-27, -r> 35
now we divide by -1 because the variable (r) cannot be negative
so the answer is r <35 (also when we divide by a negative you most switch the sign so it faces the other way)
