Answer by Fombitz(32388)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-7x-24=-26 1/3
First step, change your mixed number to a fraction.
-26 1/3=-79/3

Add 24 to both sides of the equation.

You need to change 24 to a fraction with a denominator of 3 to add the fractions.
24=72/3

Substitute
Same denominator, just add numerators.

Divide both sides by (-7).
(-7) in denominator and numerator cancel out.

Check your answer.
-7x-24=-26 1/3
-7(1/3)-24=-26 1/3

Your answer led to a true statement.
It's a good answer.
