than twice that of a person whose final degree is a bachelor's.

find the average yearly salary of people with each of these final degree

M = master


Write equations as you read the problem

    2B - M = 39000     (1)

     B + M = 114000    (2)



Add equations and get

    3B     = 39000 + 114000 = 153000  ===>  B = 153000/3 = 51000.
