Answer by math_helper(2461)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

You are in the right section.
Let x be one of the parts, which leaves 60-x as the other part.

Set the ratio of the two parts to 9/11:

Multiply both sides by 11 and both sides by 60-x:

Can you work it out from here to get x ?
[ Once you have x, write x/(60-x) as your fraction, and reduce it ]

Answer by Jdog825(1)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
11x9(60-x)
11x=540-9x
+9x. +9x
20x/20 = 540/20
X=27
